Infection Prevention
Surgical Site Infection Rate for Vaginal HysterectomyFor vaginal hysterectomies, this tool measures the number of infections divided by the number of surgeries performed. A vaginal hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus through a surgical incision made within the vagina. With a vaginal hysterectomy, the scar is not outwardly visible. A vaginal hysterectomy is different than an abdominal hysterectomy in which the incision is made in the abdominal wall. This data is risk adjusted.
